Art as a Reflection of Life: Through The lens of Time - A Bharatanatyam Presentation

Sharanya Baradwaj, a student of Smt. Sunanda Narayanan of Thillai Fine Arts Academy in Newton MA, is a junior at Acton Boxborough High School. Since her official debut on stage in June 2022, she has performed in various dance shows and competitions and won many prizes. Apart from featuring in 2023's first ever Sustaining Sampradayam dance program at the prestigious Cleveland Aaradhana, Sharanya has also performed in the full margam thematic dance presentation 'Akshaya' (Everlasting - Tradition Alive and Onwards) in Lexington, MA. A consistent winner of the monthly IndianRaga Competitions, she is a talented and committed dancer, constantly looking for opportunities to dance. In this pursuit, she has been presenting her culture and dance to audiences of all ages in the New England communities.

In this presentation, she explores, through her art, how life has changed or remained the same, and how over the centuries, despite the volatility of times and regimes, Bharatanatyam continuously perseveres, remaining available as a medium of expression for the present generation to adopt, preserve and mould to today's needs.
