What is a "stabile?" A stabile is like a mobile, except instead of hanging from above, it is a kinetic sculpture supported from below on a fixed platform. The most well-known stabiles were made by the artist Alexander Calder. You can also read more about him at the Museum of Modern Art website.

In this workshop, you will work with wire and cardboard to create your own balancing, kinetic sculpture.
