Fraudsters are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and seniors are often among the most targeted victims. Join CFA Society Boston for an educational session designed to help older adults, caregivers, family
members, and community advocates recognize financial scams and take practical steps to protect themselves and their loved ones.
What You'll Learn
During this interactive session, participants will:
• Understand how financial scams work and why seniors are frequently targeted.
• Learn how to identify common warning signs used by scammers, including fear tactics, urgency, impersonation, and requests for personal information.
• Review the five most common scams targeting seniors:

o Grandparent Scams
o Tech Support Scams
o Government Impersonation Scams
• Explore other emerging threats such as phishing schemes, fake overdue notices, caregiver fraud, and investment-related scams.
• Learn practical banking and cybersecurity tips including password protection, two-factor authentication, account alerts, and safe online practices.
