Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Card Writing and Information Event

Saturday, February 253:15—4:45 PMMeeting RoomActon Memorial Library486 Main Street, Acton, MA, 01720

Conducted by high school volunteers for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society,  Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign.

Each year, the campaign has an honored hero, and this year the honored hero is a 6-year-old named Raelyn who was diagnosed with blood cancer last year. LLS initiated the Dare to Dream project this year, specifically targeting the youth and children based on their different medicinal needs. We believe that it would be impactful to spread advocacy about health and cancer to young children since it would make an impact on their lives. We wanted to write cards to Raelyn and it would be a meaningful way to get the community engaged, and for her to hear kind wishes from other young children. The event would consist of a presentation describing Raelyn's story along with the mission of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to provide advocacy and rights for all patients, especially children who are often given treatments with negative, life-long side effects.

We'll be writing cards to 6-year-old Raelyn who was diagnosed with cancer last year. With your words of kindness and support, Raelyn would feel the presence of positivity in her brave fight. This activity is designed towards elementary level kids but anyone is welcome to join in order to learn more about Raelyn’s journey.
