Lunar New Year watercolor painting class-Year of the Tiger!
The Lunar New Year in 2022 has been designated as the year of the tiger. In China, the tiger is regarded as the king of all creatures, and the zodiac relates to power and courage.
In this fun watercolor workshop, artist Hongbing Tang will guide you with step-by-step demo videos on how to paint a lovely Chinese tiger doll, a treasure she brought with her for pursuing graduate study in this country over 20 years ago.
This is a popular toy for children in traditional Chinese culture. Hongbing's doll is pictured here-it will be source material for the painting project!
An award-winning artist and designer, Hongbing teaches art and design at different levels from college to community education. She has been teaching watercolor and mixed media at the Boston Architectural College since 2017 and is a grant recipient of Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council. Her art is not just about natural beauty. It is also about culture, identity, and promoting diversity.
